Sethsuwa Pranajeewa Oil
Sethsuwa Pranajeewa medicine is the most sought-after remedy at Sethsuwa Hospital, renowned both in Sri Lanka and worldwide. Its origins trace back to the Buddhist monk, Venerable Waga Gnanaloka Thero, who treated hundreds of patients using traditional medicine derived from Ola leaf inscriptions passed down through generations. Even at eighty, the monk appeared forty and led a remarkably active life, rising at 4:30 a.m. to pay reverence to the Lord Buddha before dedicating his day to compassionate patient care.
Hundreds of patients once gathered at the Sethsuwa Ayurveda Hospital, then known as Veda Madura, where each received an initial spoonful of Sethsuwa Pranajeewa. Word of the relief it brought spread rapidly across the country. The monk’s only disciple, Dr. Sujeewa Vithanage—a young doctor with a medical degree (BAMS) from the University of Colombo—joined him in extensive research and preparation of this ancient remedy. From that time onward, Dr. Sujeewa carried forward the recipe, preserved in Ola leaves for over 200 years. For generations, Sethsuwa Pranajeewa became the trusted cure for villagers, passed down from grandparents to grandchildren.
Today, Sethsuwa Pranajeewa has hundreds of users in the United Kingdom, the USA, and beyond, all attesting to its remarkable effects. One notable account comes from an American doctor battling prostate cancer. Despite undergoing surgery and radiation treatment, he reported no fatigue or hot flushes during his 33 sessions—a relief he attributes to Sethsuwa Pranajeewa. After temporarily stopping the medicine, his PSA levels rose and he experienced fatigue, but upon resuming the treatment, he quickly regained his strength. The medicine even allowed him to enjoy foods normally restricted for his type 2 diabetes.
The wonder of Sethsuwa Pranajeewa extends beyond oral intake. Its oil form is equally effective when applied locally to wounds, scratches, bruises, and sores, highlighting its versatile healing properties.
