Unawatuna which is known for its corals, reefs and beaches is a major tourist destination in the Southern coast of Sri Lanka. Located about 108 km away from Colombo and a mere 5 km away from the city centre of Galle, Unawatuna offers the perfect beach getaway with many activities in store. Surfing is also enjoyed in this part of the coast with a few beginner friendly spots located inside of Unawatuna Bay which is closer to Galle. Beyond these spots, you find a few natural and artificial reefs while there are more exposed areas leading towards Weligama.
